9. Lorraine Schwartz Barbie – $7,500
Mattel and 12 Council of Fashion Designers of America members created the Lorraine Schwartz Barbie doll in 2010.
It was the goal to create 12 high-end Barbie dolls that could be auctioned off to raise funds for charity.
The other 11 Barbies were well-sold, but the Lorraine Schwartz Barbie, also known as the “Bling Barbie”, was the most expensive.
It is interesting to note that the original price of the Lorraine Schwartz doll, originally $7,500, was for $25,000 worth of real diamonds. It is a high price but not nearly as expensive as her accompanying jewels.
It will be interesting to see what the doll’s auction price goes for next time, even though the current owner doesn’t seem to want to part with it anytime soon.
