Can You Keep A Mountain Lion As A Pet?

Mountain Lions are also known by the names i.e. Puma or Cougars. They are highly energetic predators having a great stamina. It also consists deadly hunting techniques.  It is listed on 4th position among all the big cats of the world.

It's a question for people that can we keep a mountain lion or a cougar as a pet??  The answer is :- Yes!! Cougars can be kept as pets in the United States, but there are certain legalities that must first be considered.

Again a question comes in mind that is it legal to own a Cougar??     The answer to this question depends upon where you live. Each state of U.S. has different laws regarding the ownership of big cats and other exotic pets. Twenty one states currently outlaw the ownership or not permitted the ownership of wild animals. The states of Alabama, Nevada, and Wisconsin allow the ownership of pets like cougars with no restrictions.

Cougars might be like beautiful, lovely and simple natured but they are counted in the list of most dangerous predators. They are also on the top of the food chain. If anyone is interested in owning an exotic pet of any kind, it is strongly advised that please research the legality of ownership of exotic pets like Puma in your city and state at first.

A big cat like a cougar has many attributes that prevent it from being domesticated. They have a very specific diet, which makes them expensive to feed. They have a fairly slow growth rate, which can be problematic for owners to do any type of breeding intervention. They can be difficult to breed in captivity. They can be aggressive towards the humans, and are generally solitary animals. It is also very challenging to give them an adequate living space in a common home.

This man knows the toughest situations and conditions to keep an exotic animal as a pet but still he keeps a cougar in his house.

There is no doubt that a person takes a risk when they decide to allow an exotic animal into their home. But, in my point of view, if an animal is given good training and it is not be hurted by anyone then it might be a loving or caring pet having a playful and sound nature whether it is domestic or wild.
